The 1974 Bilingual Agreement was negotiated with the Office of the Secretary of State providing Basic French Grant money to schools without regard to size if the MFIS would do the administration in processing the forms and the monies for the schools.

In the case of French Grants for projects that require application, schools send forms to the MFIS office for review, when the forms are completed the MFIS office submits forms to Manitoba Education French Department on behalf of the Schools.  After forms are processed the grant monies are sent to the MFIS office, which in turn sends the grant monies to the Independent Schools.

The MFIS office provides informational support to Independent School’s French Grant teams in filling out forms.
