“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” –Sir Richard Steel
Our organization needs a name!
- suggestions so far have been:
- MAILS – Man. Assoc. of Independent Libraries in Schools;
- MISLA -Mb. Independ. Sch. Lib. Assoc.; (or just plain ISLA)
- AILS – Assoc. of Indep. Sch. Libraries;
- OILS – Org. of Ind.Sch. Libraries,
- FAILS – Federation of Ind. Sch. Lib. – OK _ I just made that one up and obviously it’s a bad acronym.
You get my drift – come to the next meeting and help us decide. Better yet, send us your suggestion and if you are in attendance at the next meeting and your suggestion is chosen there will be a small prize for you.
Choosing books for independent school libraries can sometimes be a daunting task when faced with the overwhelming numbers of books published and displayed in catalogues, stores, or online sites. The following sites help Christian parents and schools make choices based on sound reviews from knowledgeable people. Further discussion of the rewards and perils of collection development will happen at the next meeting on February 9 at Calvin Christian School. Please join us.
